Three Berry Pecan Crisp

6 cups berries (blueberries, strawberries,
and raspberries -- fresh or thawed and drained
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons instant tapioca
1/4 cup flour
juice and zest of a lemon
Topping
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup pecan pieces, toasted in oven until crisp
1 1/2 sticks butter -- cut into 1/4" pieces
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix the berries and all the ingredients from that section together in a bowl. tossing
gently to mix without breaking berries. Pour berries in a 9X9 pan. set aside
Topping
Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, add butter cubes and break up with a pastry cutter to
mix flour and butter into a pebble consistency. Do not over mix. Top berries with mixture
by squeezing together in small lump no bigger than one inch, continue till all the berries
are covered and all the mixture is gone. Bake in a 350 oven for 30 minutes until top is
brown and berries are bubbly. Serve warm with your favorite ice cream. The crisp can be
made ahead, refrigerate, microwave for a minute or so to serve.
